Family Lifeline’s Annual Luncheon is next Tuesday, May 15th from 11:30am – 1pm at the Hotel John Marshall downtown! Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to learn more about the outstanding folks folks who participate in our programs.

RSVP by 5:00pm today to reserve your seat! Don’t miss this event – check out the highlights from the media release!

  • Keynote Speaker Tom Chewning: Tom, retired executive vice president and chief financial officer of Dominion Resources, is a believer in and advocate for intensive home visiting services in our community. Tom recently completed a term as the Chair of the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation as well as Chair of the Richmond Regional Advisory Council for Smart Beginnings. His other community affiliations include having served as a Trustee of Virginia Union University and as a Board member of the Community Foundation and the MCV Foundation.
  • Carl Woodson Champion for Children Award: Richmond consulting company Impact Makers will receive the Champion for Children award this year. Recipients of this annual award have a positive impact on a given community or population and a passion for excellence. They exhibit concern for humanity and are sensitive to the well-being of others. They demonstrate commitment to meeting community needs, extol virtues and skills of civic engagement and social responsibility, and align themselves with the mission and values of Family Lifeline.
  • Richard P. Leedom Scholarship: Funded by Family Lifeline Board member Bill Leedom, this scholarship fund is in its inaugural year. Two participants from Family Lifeline’s early childhood programs, CHIP and Healthy Families, will receive scholarships for the coming school year. Recipients were chosen based on goals for the future, engagement within the Family Lifeline program in which they participate, and recommendations from their case workers.
  • 2012 Annual Luncheon Awards: Individuals from each of Family Lifeline’s four programs will be honored at the luncheon – clients who have made great strides in CHIP and Healthy Families, a dedicated volunteer in the ElderFriends program, and an exceptional nursing aide from the Home Care program. Case workers, program managers, and awardees will share moving stories from their experience within each program.
